136 kidnapped students freed after 3 months in bandits nest

The 136 kidnapped students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, have been set free.

They were set free on last night, August 26, in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna State after three months in captivity.

About 136 school children were taken from the school in Tegina town in May, it was confirmed that six had died of illness by the owner of the school.

Premium Times reported that the pupils were released after the payment of more than N60 million and five new motorcycles as ransom to their kidnappers.
