A Sharia court has remanded a laborer for allegedly stealing cow skin

In a recent event, a Sharia Court in Kano State issued a judgment that drew widespread notice. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a 23-year-old guy called Abdulwahab Yusuf has been remanded in a correctional facility. Yusuf pleaded guilty to taking cow skin worth N8,500, prompting the court’s judgment.

Yusuf, a resident of Kano’s Tukuntawa Quarters, was recently charged with theft by the police.

In a new development, Judge Umar Lawal-Abubakar has decided to postpone the case till August 22. This adjournment is solely for the purpose of carrying out a summary trial.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdullahi Wada, disclosed in a recent court hearing that the complainant, Fatihu Auwal, of Tukuntawa Quarters, took the case to the Fagge Police Station in Kano on August 5.

In a recent development, Wada asserted that the defendant unlawfully invaded the complainant’s stand and stole the precious cow skin.

In an unexpected change of events, the defendant has submitted a guilty plea to the accusation leveled against them.
