GES has paid schools to cover perishable supplies and part of first‑year student fees, directing heads to submit receipts.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) announced on Wednesday, September 23, that it has transferred funds to the accounts of senior high schools (SHSs) and senior high technical schools (SHTSs) nationwide. The payments are intended to cover perishable supplies provided between 1 March and 4 September 2026, as well as part of the recurring items for first‑year students for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Implementation instructions

Regional Directors have been directed to inform school heads of the transfers so that each institution can properly account for the received amounts. Heads of SHSs and SHTSs are also required to submit official receipts for the funds to the Director‑General through their respective Regional Accountants.

Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools are reminded to send official receipts of the funds received to the Director General through their Regional Accountants.

GES management urged compliance with the directive and expressed confidence in the continued cooperation of regional officials and school leaders.
