SRC President Nana Opoku Ware donates GH₵50,000 to Ghana School of Law’s Financial Aid Fund, bolstering new scholarship scheme.

Ghana School of Law Student Representative Council (SRC) President Nana Opoku Ware has contributed GH₵50,000 to the institution’s Financial Aid Fund, augmenting support for students pursuing legal education.

New scholarship scheme

The donation follows the launch of the “GSL‑SRC Scholarship Scheme ‘26,” aimed at easing the financial burden on selected students. Ware’s administration also secured the inclusion of law students in the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), creating an additional avenue for funding.

"The law should not be a luxury for the wealthy, but a calling for the brilliant. This unprecedented contribution is a direct call to action for other resourceful students and stakeholders to invest in the future of the legal profession," Nana Opoku Ware said.
"By bridging the gap for those whose applications were not successfully processed at the SLTF, the donation ensures that financial hardship does not silence the voices of the most brilliant aspiring lawyers," he added.

Ware highlighted that the contribution offers an alternative source of aid for students who do not receive support through the SLTF or other scholarship programmes.

His philanthropic record includes paying college fees for peers, funding borehole projects in Ejisu, and in March 2024 covering tuition for 27 needy students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The Financial Aid Fund will allocate the GH₵50,000 to assist eligible students, while the SRC continues to monitor the impact of the scholarship scheme and the SLTF inclusion.
