Ghanaian genre‑blending artist and multi‑instrumentalist Josh Blakk took the stage at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg on September 19, delivering a 40‑minute set as part of the AFROSON1C X Showcase at the Schmidtchen venue.
Clad in a striking Kente outfit that highlighted his Ghanaian heritage, Blakk blended soulful highlife rhythms with contemporary Afrobeats, drawing an international audience of music enthusiasts and industry professionals.
The performance featured tracks from his debut album O.N.E and its deluxe edition, as well as selections from his latest album “Catch‑22,” including the lead single “Pot of Gold.” He shared the bill with fellow artists Anabel Rose, C‑Leta and The Cavemen.
The Reeperbahn Festival, running from September 17‑20, attracted more than 43,000 visitors from over 40 countries, reinforcing its role as a launchpad for boundary‑pushing talent. Blakk’s appearance was highlighted as a standout moment on the AFROSON1C X platform, which showcases emerging African artists.
