Ghanaian singer‑songwriter Gyakie announced on October 19, 2026, during Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz programme that she has terminated her licensing agreement with Sony Music and is now operating independently.
“I am independent now, musically and formally, with Sony Music. Right now, I have a distribution deal with Warner,” she said.
She added that the new arrangement is a distribution partnership with Warner Music, which will handle the release of her upcoming material.
New single “Your Body” launches the partnership
Gyakie confirmed that the first release under the Warner deal will be the single “Your Body.”
“So we are starting with my new single, ‘Your Body.’ It is very fresh, and my deal with Sony Music was a licensing deal. So it is a new vibration. We are starting the journey to see how it is going to go,” she added.
The artist described the track as “very fresh” and indicated that the collaboration with Warner marks a new phase in her career. No further comment was received from Sony Music or Warner Music at the time of reporting.
