On the sidelines of the ninth World Investment Forum 2026, hosted by Qatar in partnership with UNCTAD, Simon Madjie, chief executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), said Ghana is seeking deeper investment cooperation with Qatar.
Target sectors
Madjie listed agriculture, agro‑processing, manufacturing, energy, oil and gas, power generation, mining, financial services, fintech, digital services, tourism, infrastructure and the creative arts as priority areas for Qatari investors.
He noted that improved air connectivity between the two countries would facilitate business engagements and boost trade flows.
The GIPA chief highlighted that Ghana offers incentives for investors operating in free zones and for projects involving factories, equipment and machinery, as part of efforts to improve the business environment and attract capital inflows.
Madjie said Ghana’s participation in the forum aims to showcase its investment potential and encourage Qatari businesses to explore commercially viable opportunities, calling for stronger public‑private cooperation to build sustainable partnerships.
The appeal comes as both nations explore ways to strengthen bilateral economic ties.
