The National Film Authority (NFA) announced on its official social‑media channel that veteran actor and scriptwriter Anthony Blackmore Ayivor has died.
Ayivor, who served as president of the Volta Movie Makers Association of Ghana (VMMAG), was noted for his contributions to the growth of Ghanaian cinema and his focus on using film as a tool for education and social change.
He helped launch Ghana Cinema Week in the Volta Region in 2024, an event aimed at promoting local films and strengthening the regional industry.
“His passing is a loss to the film fraternity. Your memory will always remain with us,” the NFA said.
The authority extended condolences to Ayivor’s family, friends, colleagues and VMMAG members, acknowledging his lasting impact on the film fraternity.
