Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has now been granted permission to consult with a second medical doctor by the Department of State Services (DSS). This decision is based on continued worries about Kanu’s health and the need for proper medical care. The DSS’s decision to allow access to a second medical practitioner could be a starting step toward resolving these concerns.
On Wednesday, Kanu underwent a thorough examination by an ENT surgeon in Abuja.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s primary counsel, has issued a statement regarding the IPOB leader’s right to a second medical examination. According to Ejiofor, Kanu was given this opportunity by the Department of State Services (DSS) in compliance with a Federal High Court order.
In a recent statement, Ejiofor stated that Kanu’s wife recommended the ENT surgeon.

According to a recent statement by Ejiofor, the promise to keep Ezigbo UmuChineke updated on Onyendu’s legal matters and illness was kept. Following the judgment of the Federal High Court Abuja, issued by Hon. Justice B.F.M. Nyako on July 20, 2023, and the subsequent directives made, the State Security Services (SSS) has permitted Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu access to medical doctors of his choice. Yesterday, Onyendu was given the option of meeting with his second chosen medical doctor outside the SSS facility.
In an unexpected turn of events, Onyendu passed his second medical examination on August 16, 2023. He went to see an ENT surgeon, accompanied by his adoring wife. I got the opportunity to observe the entire operation, which went off without a hitch.
A distinguished ENT surgeon with an incredible track record and numerous accolades successfully completed a one-hour therapy in an important medical discovery. This historic event took place at one of Abuja’s most prestigious medical facilities, which added to its significance.
