In a tragic development, Justice Chima Centus (CC) Nweze of the Supreme Court of Nigeria has been reported deceased.

In a tragic turn of events, it has been reported that Justice Nweze, aged 64, passed away on Sunday, according to reliable sources.

As of the time of filing this report, the confirmation of his death by the Supreme Court is still pending.

In a noteworthy turn of events, it is worth mentioning that Justice Nwaeze, in a dissenting judgment back in 2020, proclaimed Emeka Ihedioha of the People Democratic Party (PDP) as the triumphant candidate in the 2019 Governorship election held in Imo State. 

In a decision that has sparked controversy, Justice Nweze of the Supreme Court delivered a split judgment of three against two. The ruling declared Ahmad Lawan, the then Senate President, as the legitimate candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Yobe North Senatorial District in the upcoming 25 February general election.

In a recent development, it has been revealed that Justice Nweze, hailing from the town of Obollo in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, came into this world on September 25, 1958.

In a significant development back in 2014, the administration of Former President Goodluck Jonathan gave its approval to the recommendation put forth by the National Judicial Council (NJC) to appoint Nweze to the esteemed supreme court.
