Annie Okonkwo who was a former senator and representative of Anambra Central senatorial district in the National Assembly is dead.

This sad news just came some days to the inauguration ceremony of his son, Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, who now is the House of Representatives member-elect for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency of the state.

The late lawmaker ,who was 63 years old before his demise, was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where he was the representative of the District in the Sixth National Assembly from 2007-2011.

Senator Okonkwo also aspired to be the governor of his state during the elections in 2010 but then lost to the now Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi
