Justice Mallong died on Sunday evening in Abuja, in a tragic turn of events. This terrible tragedy occurred less than 48 hours following the start of the judges’ annual vacation.
The Chief Registrar of the Court, Hassan Amida Sulaiman, announced the untimely death in a brief statement issued on Monday.

In a solemn declaration, he signed: “With profound sorrow and a profound sense of grief, we hereby inform the public of the passing of our esteemed individual, Honorable Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong, a distinguished member of the Federal High Court.”
Justice Mallong, a renowned member of the legal world, died suddenly in an unexpected turn of circumstances. The tragic death occurred on July 30, 2023, after a brief struggle with illness in the city of Abuja.
