Katsina Police commemorates deceased heroes and provides N7.7 million in financial assistance to families

The Katsina State Police Command has extended a helping hand to the families of 22 policemen who died in the line of duty in a sincere show of gratitude and devotion to its personnel.

A total of N7.7 million in cheques was delivered to the families in a somber ceremony held on Friday in Katsina.

Mr. Aliyu Musa, the Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, presided over the event and explained the significance of this act.

The monetary donation was made possible through the Group Life Insurance and Family Welfare Scheme, an initiative spearheaded by the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun. This program strives to provide critical assistance to the families of brave policemen who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and security of their community.

Commissioner Musa highlighted the initiative’s goal, saying, “The welfare Scheme is intended to assist the families of departed Police Officers.”

He urged those who received financial assistance to use the money wisely in order to ensure the well-being of their families. He also reassured them that their rightful benefits would be provided in a timely way, emphasizing the police department’s commitment to standing by them in their time of need.
