Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Homes and Urban Development, has stated that the federal government will provide affordable homes to Nigerians by breaking down institutional impediments.
On Saturday, Dangiwa remarked that all Nigerians deserved access to decent, quality, and affordable housing at a dinner hosted in his honor by the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) in Abuja.
He stated that it was up to them, as housing sector players, to do things differently and work together to break down the systemic impediments.
“I have been meeting with senior staff and heads of ministry agencies with a view to unveiling a Strategic Housing and Urban Development Blueprint, which will contain details of our priorities, initiatives, reforms, and plans,” the minister stated.
He claimed that the ministry’s role was to establish an enabling environment that would stimulate private sector investment and to develop rules that would enable agencies under his supervision to accomplish their functions to the best of their abilities.
As an environmental expert, Dangiwa stated that he recognized all of the sector’s difficulties and was determined to address them with the help, expertise, and understanding of industry stakeholders.
The sector’s stakeholders have offered their support to the minister.
