The Federal Government will unveil a humanitarian fund to combat poverty – Edu

Dr Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, stated that the government would shortly release Humanitarian monies to help 133 million Nigerians escape poverty.

She revealed this in an interview with Channels Television on Friday.

According to the Gist House, Edu stated on Monday that the government would bring 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.

When asked how she planned to meet the goal, she said she would reveal humanitarian funds.

According to her, the government’s aims and agenda would be open and honest with Nigerians.

“We are currently working on fully detailing the action plan.” President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already established the agenda.

“Mobilization funds will be distributed across the board from a humanitarian trust fund.” The federal government, the commercial sector, and international organizations are all involved. It will be revealed shortly.”

“We will be very transparent to Nigerians; the target is to lift 133 million Nigerians by 2030,” she stated.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics Poverty Index, 130 million Nigerians are impoverished.
