
The Lagos State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, have asked that the Lagos state Governor and the President of Nigeria should consider including youths in their government.
Biliamin Oba, the council President, appealed for this on Thursday. His statement which was made available to Punch correspondent while given good wishes to the recently inaugurated leaders Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
“We send our best wishes, and we look forward to a smooth working relationship with Nigerian youth. We appeal that you look into youth inclusion in governance and critically address the yearnings of our youth. We are confident that this tenure at the helms of affairs will birth more dividends of democracy and will further renew our hope as people.”
“Your emergence as the representatives of the people is an indication that you have displayed quality leadership in different areas of governance, which is the reason the people are entrusting their mandate to you,” Oba said.
Oba praised the Lagos state Governor Sanwo-Olu for continually putting the youth constituency on the priority list, adding that the council wholeheartedly supports the THEMES+ agenda of the governor.
While it looks forward to working relationships in the conceptualisation of ideas, implementation, and evaluation, the council pledge to work with you (Sanwo-Olu) and support your transformational agenda wholeheartedly,” Oba added
