Yobe: the NDLEA seizes 62 kilograms of cannabis sativa and arrests three individuals

According to the Yobe State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, 33 blocks of Cannabis Sativa were confiscated in two sacks carrying groundnuts.

In a brief statement delivered to newsmen in Damaturu on Friday, the Command’s Principal Staff Officer, Media and Advocacy, Ramatu SB, stated this.

According to the command, 133 blocks of compressed Cannabis Sativa weighing 62.0kg were intercepted along the Potiskum-Gombe route in the Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Three people were caught in connection with the unlawful trafficking during the procedure.

On August 23, 2023, a team of NDLEA, Yobe State Command Operatives – Strike Force commanded by CSN Jibril Odiba tracked and intercepted one ash-colored Sharon galaxy vehicle with registration number AKK 484XA from Ba-isa Local Government in Taraba State.
“Three suspects in the vehicle, Ya’u Yahuza ‘M’ 30yrs, Yahaya Muhd ‘M’ 29yrs, and Tanimu Salisu ‘M’ 20yrs, all Gombe State indigenes, were arrested with 133 blocks weighing 62.0kg of compressed weeds,” the statement stated.
Meanwhile, the NDLEA Yobe State Command announced that it has taken its WADA sensitization campaign to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area, Yobe State.

ACN Aliyu Yaro, Area Commander, Potiskum Area Command, led a training session for around 1,700 corps members on the causes and effects of drug misuse.

The campaign included significant discussion as well as question and answer sessions on the subject.
