Accra FM presenter Kwabena Bobie Ansah issued a public apology to Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy after the presenter sparked online backlash by stating on air that he would choose Shatta Wale over Stonebwoy and accusing the latter of being ungrateful for not acknowledging Asamoah Gyan’s financial support for his knee surgery.
Stonebwoy responded, questioning the personal nature of the remarks and noting that he chose to answer calmly out of respect for older people, mentioning that he has uncles of similar age to the presenter.
Apology
“Hi bruv, I send you my sincere apologies concerning comments I made with respect to my choice between you and Shatta. Respectfully, I did not intend to take a swipe at your person,”
“I’m apologizing not because of the insults from your base. Noooooooo! … However, I’m here to do the needful since you’ve shown displeasure over my comments, which I thought is a genuine observation,”
Bobie Ansah also acknowledged Stonebwoy’s contribution to Ghana’s music scene, describing him as a legend, and appealed for forgiveness, stating his intention to maintain cordial relations.
The apology was made publicly on social media and was not prompted by insults from Stonebwoy’s supporters, according to the presenter.
No further comment has been made by either party as of now.
