Atiku and Obi are both absent as the Tribunal renders its decision

Former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abubakar Atiku, and his counterpart in the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, are both notably absent from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, where a decision on their petitions is expected.

Aside from Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, no other prominent PDP politician is in court.

The Labour Party, on the other hand, was represented by Julius Abure, the party’s national chairman.

The Gist House was unable to verify the reasons for their absence because Atiku’s media director, Mr. Paul Ibe, did not return phone calls.

The Tribunal members, led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, had arrived at the time of this report to pronounce a decision on the three petitions.

Justice Tsammani has ordered that the ruling in Peter Obi’s and the Labour Party’s petition be rendered first.
