Balogun is eager to play for the Super Eagles

Leon Balogun wants to play international football for Nigeria again.

With the Super Eagles leaving the competition in the last-16, the 35-year-old missed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

Due to injury, Balogun has played only a few minutes for the West Africans in the AFCON qualifiers for 2023.

Queens Park Rangers, a Sky Bet Championship club, discharged the experienced center-back in June.

Balogun, on the other hand, made a surprising return to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership last month.

Balogun has indicated his wish to play for the Super Eagles again after enjoying regular action at Ibrox Stadium.

“Perfect, and I’m hoping to make the next squad.” “I’ve been out for a while, and it would definitely be something nice,” he told Rangers TV.

“Obviously, I’m excited to be called up.” As crazy as it can be, I missed international football with Nigeria and seeing a lot of faces I haven’t seen in a long time.”
