Innocent Ujah Idibia, known as 2Baba, a legendary Nigerian artist, has chastised Nigerians for being unduly concerned about his family.
The African Queen crooner said that, although claiming to have developed a thick skin to Nigerians’ critiques of his family over the years, he still gets wounded on occasion.
The father of seven bemoaned that Nigerians who implied he was a bad parent to his children had never volunteered to pay any of their school expenses.
This was mentioned by 2Baba during an appearance on the most recent episode of the Afrobeats podcast presented by British-Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide.
“Many people talk about kids, fatherhood, motherhood, and the whole circle,” he remarked. Many people talk about it in terms of public opinion. But it’s more complicated than that. Nobody knows the exact plan for this monster.
“The fundamental truth of the situation is the connection between you and your children.” There are numerous methods for locating it. There is no single rule or method.
“I address my kids as if they were my friends. I don’t make them do anything. I speak to them in the same way that I speak to my friends and my mother.
“I get quite a few jabs [trolling].” I have a lot of folks who say negative things about me. On social media, I’ve been trolled countless times. And it can be painful at times. Some people will simply post nonsense on social media. It’s the same as terrorists bombing civilians.
“And I’ll start wondering how, even today, none of those critics who are concerned about my family have come to help pay my children’s school fees.” “Not a single soul.”
2Baba married one of his three baby mamas, actress Annie Macaulay, in a secret ceremony in 2012.
In recent years, the marriage has been marred by scandals, with Annie alleging 2Baba’s first baby mother, Pero Adeniyi, of continuing to have an affair with the musician.
There have also been rumors that the singer had another woman pregnant and was a bad father to some of his children.
However, 2Baba has subsequently dispelled all rumors.
