
WhatsApp Channels by Meta was just launched on Thursday, this feature according to the social media platform is said will assist in making the app a “private broadcast messaging product.”
WhatsApp users in South American country and Asian country, Colombia and Singapore respectively will be the first to have access to Channels. Subsequently, over some months it will be accessed and available for users in many other countries.
The well known social media giant has said that users will then be able to follow what they like could be their hobbies, sports teams, local news updates etc. The details of the Channel admin such as contact details, profile photos would not be seen by their followers.
