NEWS FLASH: Tinubu and the class of 1999 governors are gathering in Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is presently engaged in a momentous gathering with the esteemed assembly of governors, with whom he shared the corridors of power back in the illustrious year of 1999.

Inside the grand council chambers of the Presidential Villa, a meeting commenced just a few moments ago. The room was filled with esteemed individuals, including former state governors who have left their mark on the political landscape. Among them were the distinguished Obong Victor Attah from Akwa Ibom, the charismatic James Ibori from Delta, the influential Orji Uzor Kalu from Abia, the charismatic Lucky Igbinedion from Edo, the honorable Jolly Nyame from Taraba, the wise Attahiru Bafarawa from Sokoto, the resilient Joshua Dariye from Plateau, the esteemed Bisi Akande from Osun, and the visionary Ahmed Markafi from Kaduna, to name just a few.

The governors who came together to form the Fourth Republic after the passing of the esteemed Gen Sani Abacha and the subsequent temporary rule of Gen Abdusalami Abubakar, played a pivotal role in the smooth transition to democracy in 1999.
