NLC to begin nationwide strike over removal of fuel subsidy

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced a nationwide strike from next week Wednesday.

 

The strike action  was declared due to fuel subsidy removal which was announced by the recently inaugurated President of Nigeria, this has led to cries all over the country as people struggle to live and not to talk of eating.

Channels Television reported that the congress made the announcement on Friday, June 2, after a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja over the fuel subsidy removal and regular hike in the pump price of petrol.

 

The NEC consists of all Presidents, General Secretaries, Treasurers of all NLC’s affiliate unions; State Chairpersons and Secretaries of the NLC State Councils, Chairperson of the NLC Youth Committee and members of the National Administrative Council (NAC).
