Peter Obi denies having a photo with Simon Ekpa

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has denied posing for a photo with Simon Ekpa, who bills himself as an activist for Biafra.

In a swift and decisive move, Obi, the esteemed individual in question, has come forth to vehemently refute the allegations that have been circulating in the public sphere. This resolute denial was prompted by the emergence of a viral image, one that has been manipulated and altered through the use of digital editing techniques, featuring Ekpa, a prominent figure in the political landscape.

In a statement delivered by the esteemed Head of Obi-Datti Media Office, Diran Onifade, the distinguished Obi vehemently denounced the orchestrated efforts of certain individuals who, driven by ulterior motives, sought to tarnish his esteemed reputation through the dissemination of a deceitful, photoshopped image.

In a recent declaration, Onifade articulated the following sentiment: “The media office of Obi-Datti brings to attention the striking resemblance between the current situation and the fabricated image depicting the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, purportedly in the company of the Finland-based provocateur and Biafra advocate, Simon Ekpa. This calculated maneuver aims to tarnish Obi’s reputation by associating him with the unsavory narrative that Ekpa has come to embody within Nigeria.”

In a display of utmost clarity, it is imperative to note that the aforementioned picture was captured by none other than Obi, who found himself in the company of an ardent supporter aboard a Virgin Flight on the momentous day of Friday, the 21st of July in the year 2023.

In a brazen attempt to lend an air of legitimacy to their abhorrent and morally repugnant deed, the perpetrators shamelessly employed the image of Aisha Yusuf as a backdrop.
