The governor of Osun has appointed a popular Offa warrior as Special Assistant on Internal Security

Ezekiel Olagoke, an indigene of Offa, Kwara State, has been appointed as Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Special Assistant on Internal Security.

Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), announced the appointment in a letter dated August 9, 2023.

“I am glad to inform you that Osun State Governor, His Excellency. Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has authorized your appointment as special assistant to the governor (Task Force on Internal Security and Local Areas) beginning August 1, 2023.

“Please be advised that you will be reporting directly to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internal Security and Local Areas.”

“While congratulating you on this well-deserved appointment, the State government believes that this elevation will improve your performance and propel Osun State to greater heights.” “Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for your new position,” he wrote.

According to reputable sources, Adegoke was a popular Offa warlord prior to his appointment.

During the communal conflict with Erin-Ile, he was a leading fighter for the Offa community, averting an attack on the Olofa’s palace.

His actions during the communal conflict won him fame and the moniker ‘Oba Ezekiel.’
