Steven Gerrard, the coach of Al-Ettifaq, has joked that he does not want Neymar to play in the Saudi Pro League.

Gerrard made the remark when discussing Neymar’s transfer to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.

Neymar has signed a £78 million contract with Al-Hilal after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old is largely regarded as one of the best players of his time, and Gerrard believes the former Barcelona forward is underappreciated for his contributions to the game.

“The name speaks for itself,” Gerrard stated (via CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs on Twitter). He has brought me so much delight over the years at Barcelona, PSG, and Brazil.

“I don’t think the boy gets enough credit for his numbers.” I don’t want him to come because he won’t be joining my squad. But, in Hollywood, he’s an A-lister.”
