Yusuf, a student at LASU, broke a record, Sanwo-Olu and LASG rewarded her with N10 million

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented N10 million to Aminat Yusuf, a record-breaking graduating Law student at Lagos State University (LASU). Aminat Yusuf established a new standard by graduating with the greatest grade point average in the school’s history.

Sanwo-Olu awarded Yusuf with the money as a prize for obtaining a CGPA of 5.0 during the school’s 26th convocation ceremony on Thursday in the Ojo-Iyana Iba suburb of Lagos State.

Yusuf got a personal donation of N5 million from the governor of Lagos State, as well as another N5 million from the Lagos State government, after breaking a record that had stood at LASU for forty years.

Yusuf, who graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 from LASU’s Faculty of Law, was named the highest graduating student for the 2021/2022 academic session.

Her success was recognized by a Lagos monarch named Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji, Oniba of Iba Kingdom, who granted her N2 million and pledged to fully fund her through law school as a result of her success.

Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Vice Chancellor of LASU, announced a week ago that Yusuf will receive a N500,000 monetary award for his achievement.
