On Saturday, 24 October 2026, the Ellembelle Constituency executive elections were held at the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli Memorial Park in Ampain.
Charles Kwesi, the Presiding Member of the Ellembelle District Assembly and a three‑term Assembly Member for the Tandan Electoral Area, was elected Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ellembelle Constituency.
Kwesi received 808 votes, accounting for 59% of the ballots cast, defeating other candidates in what observers described as a closely contested race.
The result marks a significant upset within the local party structure, with Kwesi taking over the constituency secretary role ahead of the upcoming parliamentary term.
The NDC has yet to issue a formal statement confirming the election outcome.
