Minister Kwame Agbodza warned contractors on the Sunyani Outer Ring Road to maintain quality as work on the 34‑km project progresses.

On 9 October 2025, Kwame Agbodza, Ghana's Minister of Roads and Highways, inspected the progress of the 34‑kilometre Sunyani Outer Ring Road project at Fiapre in the Sunyani West Municipality, where contractors have begun major asphaltic works.

Minister cautions on quality standards

During the site visit, Agbodza cautioned contractors involved in the government’s “Big Push” road‑infrastructure programme against compromising quality standards, emphasizing that the success of the project depends on adherence to prescribed specifications.

The project’s groundbreaking ceremony was performed by President John Dramani Mahama on 21 December 2025, under the “Big Push” initiative intended to stimulate economic growth, ease traffic congestion and improve regional connectivity in Sunyani.

The Ministry of Roads and Highways confirmed that work on the outer ring road continues under close supervision, with further inspections planned to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
