Former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan has committed to help Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the President’s wife, in moving the country ahead, and has urged other women to do the same.

Mrs. Jonathan made the assurance during a solidarity visit to the first lady at the presidential palace in Abuja on Wednesday.

She commended the first lady for her contributions to the lives of Nigerian women.

She stated that it was critical for her, as a former president’s wife, to support and encourage Mrs. Tinubu on matters that would bring the country ahead.

Jonathan praised women’s groups for their support for President Bola Tinubu and his wife, urging them to continue their support for the government in order to sustain patriotic activities.

“You are one of the women I look forward to seeing because you have the potential to make Nigerian women proud; I am here to encourage and support you because we are one country and our country must progress.”

“I am with you for twenty-four hours; call me anytime, any day; I will work with you to move the country forward and make it better because it is our country and we have nowhere else to go.”
