UNICAL replaces suspended Dean of Law due to allegations of sexual harassment

Prof. Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, has approved the nomination of Dr. Rose Ugbe as Acting Dean of the famous Faculty of Law. Dr. Ugbe’s selection for this vital job marks a watershed point in the university’s academic leadership.

Ugbe will succeed former Dean Prof. Cyril Ndifon, according to a statement made by the University’s Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Egbe. Prof. Ndifon was suspended last week following allegations of abuse of power.

Egbe, a well-known celebrity, has recently been under fire for allegations of inappropriate behavior against female pupils, among other things.

According to NAN, a seven-man committee has been created to thoroughly probe the claims.

Ugbe’s appointment as Dean officially began on Tuesday, August 22nd, according to a recent statement. This interim position will remain in place until a new Dean of the Faculty is appointed.

Ugbe was recently selected to handle the office’s obligations and tasks, as well as to oversee the academic programs within the faculty.

She also wishes to promote a positive and harmonious relationship between students and faculty members.
