Renowned Ghanaian broadcast journalist Kwame Sefa Kayi said he would support former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew if the latter decides to contest the presidency of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Kayi made the remarks during a light‑hearted interview with fellow broadcaster Dan Kwaku Yeboah on Peace FM, saying the current Kurt Okraku‑led administration faces mounting pressure and that Ghana football needs new leadership.
"If he has not declared, then I am declaring for him. If Dede [Ayew] decides to contest, I will support him, and I wish everybody would do the same so that there will be changes," Kayi said.
He added that his endorsement was not a display of bias but stemmed from personal interest in seeing reforms in the sport.
Ayew has not publicly announced any intention to run for the GFA presidency, despite reports that football insiders have urged him to consider the role.
There has been no official response from the GFA or from Kurt Okraku regarding Kayi’s statement.
