Plymouth Argyle advanced to the second round of the English FA Cup on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over lower‑tier Alvechurch, a match that also marked the return of Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo.
Baidoo, who had been sidelined since August after sustaining an injury in a friendly against Bristol City, entered the game in the 61st minute. Seventeen minutes later he found the net, extending Argyle's lead to 3-0 following a second‑half double by Will Evans.
The 27‑year‑old midfielder missed the previous 18 league fixtures while recovering from the injury. His goal contributed to the heavy win, which sees Argyle move on to the next stage of the competition.
Club officials noted that Baidoo's return is a positive sign for the squad, and the player is expected to compete for more minutes as the season progresses.
