Dreams FC secured their first win of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season on Sunday at the AAK II Sports Arena, defeating Basake Holy Stars 1-0.
The match saw Holy Stars reduced to ten men after Bismark Teye was shown a red card in the 33rd minute following a contested challenge.
Taking advantage of the numerical edge, Dreams forward Bernard Kokonu scored in the 50th minute, netting the only goal of the game.
Implications for the league table
The result snapped Holy Stars' unbeaten home run and left them in 10th place in the standings. Their next fixture is an away match against Port City.
Dreams, still bottom of the table, will look to build momentum when they host newly promoted Debibi United later this week.
