Ghana Paralympic Committee president Samson Deen says the Black Challenge will strive to win the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.

Ghana's Black Challenge amputee football team has been placed in Group D of the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup, alongside Angola, Colombia and Iraq.

Samson Deen, president of the Ghana National Paralympic Committee, said the squad is determined to win the tournament in Mexico.

“I’ll stand on behalf of the team and tell you that we’ll win the World Cup. I’ve told them they have to win it, and we’ll do everything in our capacity to go there and win. Whatever we need to do, we’ll do it. Unless God says maybe winning won’t be good for us, but we know God is on our side and we have the best team in the world.”

Preparation ahead of the tournament

The Black Challenge is scheduled to travel to Turkey later this month for a training camp before departing for Mexico, where the championship will be held.

Deen highlighted that the team will build on its recent continental success as it prepares to face some of the world’s leading amputee football sides.

The committee affirmed that preparations are ongoing and the team remains focused on delivering strong performances at the World Cup.
