On Wednesday, the Ghana under-15 boys football team left Accra for Azerbaijan to take part in the FIFA U-15 Boys World Cup and Festival.
The delegation, comprising the players and technical staff, will represent Ghana at the global youth festival that combines competitive matches with developmental programmes under FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme.
Group draw and schedule
Ghana have been placed in Group W with Uzbekistan, Myanmar, Guam, the Bahamas and Kazakhstan. Their campaign opens against Uzbekistan on Saturday 24 October, followed by back-to-back matches against Myanmar and Guam on Sunday. The group stage concludes with fixtures against the Bahamas and Kazakhstan on Monday 26 October 2026, meaning the side will play five games in three days.
The Ghana Football Association said the squad has undergone months of screening and preparation and will aim to make a strong impression in Azerbaijan.
FIFA’s format for the U-15 Festival is designed to give maximum game time and exposure to all participating talents.
Further updates will follow as the tournament progresses.
