Hearts of Oak defeated Port City 1-0 on October 11 at the University of Ghana Stadium in the Ghana Premier League Matchday Six fixture.
Coach cites pitch quality concerns
Following the victory, Bosnian‑Herzegovinian coach Nebojša Kapor said the condition of playing surfaces is a serious problem for Ghana football, noting that the stadium used is a national venue, not exclusive to his club.
“This is not our stadium; it’s a national stadium. This is not just our home ground; it’s for all Ghanaians. It’s true that it’s not our stadium,” Kapor told the media.
“We have to improve our team, and Ghana football already has a serious problem with pitches. I have a lot of obligations, and this is not part of them,” he added.
The win moved Hearts of Oak to second place, three points behind leaders Medeama, while Port City fell to fourth after their second loss of the season. Hearts will next face Vision FC, and Port City will host Dreams FC in the upcoming Matchday Seven games.
