The Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), together with Ghana’s Forestry Commission and corporate partners, has launched a five‑year initiative to restore 50 hectares of degraded forest in the Subri River Forest Reserve, Sekyere Krobo, in the Western Region.

The project, supported by Zijin Golden Ridge Ghana and other stakeholders, aims to curb forest degradation, protect biodiversity and embed sustainable environmental practices into Ghana’s broader development agenda. MIIF’s chief executive participated in a tree‑planting ceremony to mark the commencement of the effort.

Through the restoration work, the fund seeks to demonstrate responsible management of the country’s mineral wealth while reinforcing environmental protection as a core component of sustainable development.
