The New Patriotic Party told all prospective parliamentary candidates and supporters to stop campaign activities until its selection process.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a directive ordering all prospective parliamentary aspirants, their agents and supporters to cease any campaign activities immediately.

The party’s leadership said the instruction follows complaints that some members seeking to contest parliamentary seats have begun campaigning in various constituencies ahead of the party’s internal selection process.

The NPP also warned party officers at polling stations, electoral areas, constituencies, regional and national levels, as well as the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), against promoting any parliamentary aspirant on social media or facilitating premature campaign activities.

The directive aims to ensure a level playing field during the upcoming parliamentary selection procedures.
