WRRC CEO says rising mental‑health stats reflect greater awareness, not an epidemic.

During a briefing at the Willingway Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre (WRRC) in Ejisu‑Asawase, Ashanti region, Chief Executive Officer Lydia Abena Manu Adofo said the recent rise in Ghana’s mental‑health statistics should not be interpreted as a sudden epidemic.

“The rising mental health statistics in Ghana should not be misconstrued as a sudden epidemic of mental illness, but rather as a positive outcome of sustained education and sensitisation efforts that are encouraging more people to seek professional help,” she said.
